Doris Jean Kunzie was born March 11, 1936, in Winnebago, to Dwight and Altha (Huff) Morgan, the youngest of eight siblings, and passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Bryan Medical Center East Campus in Lincoln at the age of 88 years 2 months and 25 days.

On Oct. 27, 1956, Doris was united in marriage to Larry Kunzie at the Presbyterian Church in Winnebago. To this union, two daughters were born, Vicky and Jeri. Early in their marriage, Doris lived in Winnebago with her husband, working as a para for a country school and a homemaker, later moving to Milford in 1966. She continued as a homemaker and worked as a para for Milford High School and retired in 1997. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Christmas programs, youth group and “New Beginnings” in Sunday school for more than 20 years. Doris also enjoyed making church bulletins and hanging of the greens. During her retirement, she enjoyed sewing and needlework. Doris was well known for making dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Vicky Morgan, Omaha, and Jeri and Vic Weber, Lincoln; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Elizabeth Timme, Rachael and Brandon Garner, Sarah and Richard Grabow, and Jacob and Jen Weber, all of Lincoln; 10 great-great-grandchildren, Kate and Daniel Timme, Mason and Harrison Garner, Emma, Evan and Ellie Grabow, Shiloh, Shepherd, and Sonny Weber; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; four brothers and three sisters.

The funeral service was June 11 at the United Methodist Church in Milford with interment at the Blue Mound Cemetery in Milford. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Milford Public Schools Scholarship Fund. Arrangements by Lauber Funeral and Cremation Services, Milford.
