Locals run in Market to Market run

Plenty of Nebraskans take part in the Market to Market relay and a group from Milford had a great time during the run.

Kennedy Mogul, Milford PE teacher, competed in the event alongside Lindsey Sample, Mary Henley, Kendra Piening, Megan Kresse, Chrystina Piening, Michele Kontor and Robyn Swartzentruber.

Mogul said she decided to run the Market to Market after enjoying the Lincoln half marathon.

“I ran the Lincoln halfsy last year and enjoyed it, as much as you can enjoy a half marathon,” she said. “But, Lindsey asked me afterwards if I’d want to join their Market to Market team and I figured it would be more fun than the halfsy so I said yes.”

Although it was one of the warmest Market to Market’s some members can remember, Mogul said they still had a good time.

“Other than the heat, the trails and areas we got to run were very enjoyable,” she said.

Mogul and the Milford ladies finished in 11:35:50.97.

Mogul said one of her favorite parts of the event was the van rides in between stops.

“The van ride from exchange points was probably the most fun,” she said. “Getting to experience working hard with a team is always enjoyable as well, but the relationships made through it all and the laughs were priceless.”

Mogul said she would recommend the event to others.

“It’s a great way to get out in Nebraska with a group of people,” she said. “Not only are you exercising with so many different people, but you’re experiencing such a unique thing with people from all over the state.”
