JULY 9, 2024 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED AUGUST 13, 2024 The Seward County Board of Equalization convened on July 9, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, John Culver, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer County Assessor: Marilyn Hladky County Treasurer: Jake Zlatkovsky Approved minutes of June 25, 2024. Approved Motor Vehicle Tax Exemption. Held Property Valuation Protest hearings. Approved Tax List Corrections. Hladky gave an update of her office. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved consent agenda consisting of the minutes of July 2, 2024 and the June 2024 Fee Reports of Clerk of the District Court and County Clerk. Bruce Borchers was present to discuss the condition of the roads in E Precinct. Officials gave reports of their offices/departments. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved time and place for Postcard Hearing and Print Shop for printing the postcards. Approved two utility permits and Surplus Property Disposal Request for Road Dept. Approved Public Transit Director to apply for funding for a new Public Transit vehicle. Accepted the County Treasurer’s Semi-Annual Report and Condensed Semi-Annual Report for publication and also the Tax Roll Adjustments. Held Executive Session for personnel. Conducted quarterly jail inspection. Presented Allan Ahrens with a Service Award for 50 Years with Seward County. Discussions were held on employing a grant writer for Seward County, an upgrade to the PREA/Programs Corporal job description to Programs Sargeant, and grant funds being sought by Seward County.
